1 JAMES (1) LATTA

Born April 3, 1785 at ____; d. September 5, 1826; m. Elizabeth Smith who was born April 21, 1781 and died May 3, 1854. They are both buried in the Miffin Township Cemetery, Gahanna, Franklin County, Ohio. They lived in Westmoreland Co., Pa. and in April 1818,
removed to Gahanna, Franklin Co., Ohio. (See branch 1, family 6, and Notes on Connection of Branches).

7 MARY (2) b. 1809; d. October 3, 1818 at age 10 y and 5 mo of age, buried in the Miffin Township Cemetery.

9 ELIZABETH (2) b. September 2, 1816; d. October 24, 1822 at 6 y & 1 mo of age, buried in the Miffin Township Cemetery.
3 JOHN (2). b. August 10, 1819 in Franklin Co., Ohio; d. July 10, 1883 at Gahanna, Franklin Co., OH.
10 HANNAH (2) b. 1816; d. April 1898; m. George Scott. Children: John m. Miss Beecher. Katharine m. John Berry. Phebe. Andrew. In 1903 all lived in Miami Co., Ind.
11 MARTHA (2) m. Eli Cook. In 1904 lived at Westerville, Franklin Co., O.R.F.D. Children: Eliza. Sarah. James. Martha m. John M. Pugh of Columbus, Ohio.
12 SARAH M. (2) b. September 15, 1805; d. when her daughter was small. She m. Mr. Lytle. One child: Elizabeth b. May 14, 1832 who m. William T. Underwood November 12, 1859. In 1904 living at Reynoldsburg, Ohio. One daughter, Mrs. C. G. Smith, living Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Cemetery Inscription at Gahanna, Ohio, James Latta d. September 5, 1869 aged 41 y. 5 m. 2d. This would make him born May 3, 1828. In the Memorandum Book a Marriage Record, Franklin Co., Ohio April 8, 1823, Martha Latta to Benjamin S. Leach. Who are James and Martha?

2 WILLIAM (2) LATTA

James (1). Born in Westmoreland Co., Pa. May 15, 1814; d. May 29, 1883; m. Anna Albery on November 12, 1840. She was born on November 1, 1819 and died on August 3, 1881. They are both buried in the Chili Cemetery, Richland Township, Miami County, Indiana. His tombstone reads: William Latta, d. May 29, 1883; ae 69y-14d. Hers reads: Anna Latta, wife of William, Nov. 1, 1819-August 3, 1881, ae 61y-9m-2d. They moved from Franklin Co., Ohio to Miami Co., Ind. in November of 1861 with their family. "W. Latta" is listed in Richland Township as a landowner in 1877. 1880 Census - Richland, Miami Co., Indiana - William Latta, age 66, born PA, father born PA, mother born PA, Anna Latta, wife, age 66, born OH, father born MD, mother born OH; Lizzie Deal, 18, servant.

James (1). Born August 10, 1819 in Franklin Co., Ohio; d. July 10, 1883 at Gahanna, Franklin Co., Ohio, age 64y 11m; m. Phoebe Paull. She was born on March 26, 1816 and died on December 29, 1910, at the age of 94y 9m. Both buried in the Miffin Township Cemetery, Gahanna, Franklin County, Ohio. Farmer. Lived all his life in Mifflin Tp. Franklin Co., Ohio.

William (2) James (1). Born January 9, 1845; d. June 19, 1927 in Westfield, Indiana; m. Sarah Frances Donavan, November 1868. She was born on Dec. 6, 1845 and died on Feb. 9, 1909. They are both buried in the Chili Cemetery, Richland Township, Miami Co., Indiana. Clark was a Corporal "L" Co. 12th Ind. Vol. Cavalry, Civil War. Enrolled December 11, 1863 at Peru, Ind. Mustered into service January 12, 1864 at Kendallsville, Ind. Mustered out and honorably discharged November 10, 1865 at Vicksburg, Miss.

In August 1900 was on Rural Route No. 1, Peru, Miami Co., Ind. 1920 Census - Peru, Miami County, Indiana - Clark Latta, age 78, born in Ohio, widowed, retired, living with daughter Eva M., age 35, and her husband Imer R. Helvia, age 36, born in Indiana. Eva was also listed as born in Indiana. Their children were Clifford L. and Robert E.

5 FRANK M. (3) LATTA

John (2) James (1). Born at Gahanna, Ohio February 17, 1853; d. April 25, 1934; m. Nellie E. Chrysler on October 13, 1875. She was born August 6, 1853 in Virginia (now West Virginia) and died January 2, 1903 at Gahanna, Ohio. They are both buried in the Old Gahanna Cemetery, now the Mifflin Township Cemetery.

Children all born at Gahanna.
23 GRACE ADELLA (4) b. abt. 1878; m. Robert James of Delaware. There is an Adella Latta Women's Circle at the Miffin Presbyterian Church in Miffin, Ohio, near Gahanna. Was this women's circle named after Grace Adella Latta? (Church contact - mshirley@miffinpres.org)
24 RUTH MOREA (4) b. May 23, 1889; d. March 9, 1890. Buried in the Mifflin Township Cemetery.

There is also a tombstone for - LATTA Adelle Miller Aug 14 1863-Jan 6 1939, in the Mifflin Township Cemetery, but she has not been placed yet in this branch.

wife Alice, age 45, born in Ind.; son, Vern C., age 23, born in Ind., farmer, at home;

They are both buried in the Chili Cemetery, Richland Township, Miami Co., Ind. In 1900 lived at Pettysville, Ind.
